{January 23-28}
I have been stalling on this post because I thought Gretchen was going to send me pictures from my parents' open house, farewell, and setting apart. She is super busy being super mom though and at this point I probably won't ever get them.
This was such an emotional week. The farewell was January 16 and they both did SO good. We had a brunch after sacrament at Gretchen's house. It was so yummy and so much fun to be with so many family and friends. Ty was a disaster though because he didn't get to take a nap. They didn't get set apart until Sunday January 23. President Frei gave them such beautiful blessings and had so many good things to say to them. We were able to have Mitch and Robyn on Skype through the whole thing(so thankful for technology). We said a few goodbyes that night, because they got up and left for the MTC at 5:30am.
Devan had to go up to Orem for some work on Thursday so we were able to go out to dinner with Mom and Dad on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights after they were done at the MTC with classes. It was so nice to spend some extra time with them and fun to see them as missionaries with their tags on.
Sunday morning Devan and I had to come home. We went to the MTC to get my Mom and Dad's truck to drive home for them. This is where we really had to say goodbye. It wasn't fun, to say the least. I'm SO SO excited for them, but it's still hard. We left the MTC and I was driving alone with Ty in the back. I was sobbing and I hear Ty fake crying in the back, I look at him and he's pointing at me with this sad face mimicking me. haha So then we both started laughing. I'm glad I had my little boy to cheer me up. :)
It's only 18 months...one month has already gone by. They have already touched so many people's lives in New Zealand. I'm so proud of them and the example they are to all of us!

Such tender pictures. That would definitely be sooo hard - even for only 18 months! Your parents are so cute and thank heavens for computers so they can see your blog!!
I really can't imagine. They will be great missionaries though! Hopefully for you time will fly!
I wouldn't survive without my mom! Your family must be so strong for the Lord to call them all the way to New Zealand!! They will be awesome missionaries! :D
Lexi, these pictures ripped my heart out. I can't imagine saying goodbye to my parents like that, and it made me so sad to hear about you crying! Your parents are such wonderful people and I hope they are doing so great! Ty sure is a cutie!
